The purpose of this project is to reduce phosphorus entering SHL. To address this, the HLWD and Jackson SWCD are partnering with landowners to implement projects to reduce phosphorus in SHL. Efforts are focused on Jackson County Ditch 3, which flows into Okabena Creek and the SHL and JD 14 and JD 3, which also outlet into SHL. Projects include 15 ASIs on Jackson County Ditch 3, four on JD 14, and a 4.2 acre wetland restoration on JD 3.
